Both electric sliding doors will not open. If you push the open button inside the car or on the fob you can hear the motor try to open but the door doesn't budge and the motor stops after a second. 2008+ sienna owners with power/automatic sliding doors do not have the extra warranty on their power sliding door cable assemblies.

Posted by anonymous on jan 25, 2011. Problem started intermittantly, but now won't open at all. The outside door handle goes dead and every other way of opening the door results in the door trying to open even further and then stops.

The Cable In The Side Door Is Prone To Fraying And Then Breaking.


In my case the part number was pan14ee12aa1 for toyota sienna 2006 xle, i ordered it from digitkey for $6.70 (after tax and shipping) for each door. At first, the door won't work properly. In this situation, the best thing to do is to replace the cable.

This Happened With The Passenger Side Door And Once I Was Able To Open It We Greased The Interior Latches.
